Institut Escola Mare de Déu del Portal - Batea

On 16 January 2020, 4th ESO students attended an event hosted by Felip Puig on the Civil War. The speaker was a person from Corbera d'Ebre, a student of the events that occurred during the Civil War in these lands, who collaborates with the University of Barcelona and who altruistically disseminates the results of his research in educational centers. The first part focused on events that occurred to people from Terra Alta who suffered the repression of the Franco regime, specifically the brothers Pere Frixach Bilbé and Braulio Juan Burguera who were both unjustly imprisoned and in the case of the latter, was sentenced to death and executed in 1940.

An educational project that contemplates the fact of putting in value the resources of our environment as those that make reference to the historical and patrimonial environment. Recently the students of 4th of ESO and 2nd High School students have had the opportunity to deepen their experience of the events of the Civil War by visiting the spaces of the Battle of the Ebro and with a talk by Felip Puig about the repression of Franco.
