The permanent flame was inaugurated at the Poble Vell in 2009 by local artist Jesús Pedrola. It is a memory of the suffering that happened Corbera d'Ebre during the battle of the Ebre. Corbera bombed, flaming from its three sides and that is why it is symbolized with three flames. Natural stone stains represent blood and the anguish.
Inside this monument there is a bulb that at night is lit symbolizing a permanent light. The slots surrounding that light are windows to hope and freedom.
